PHOTOS: See How The Rolls-Royce Phantom 2 Looks Like
The Rolls-Royce Phantom 2 costs £300,000 but personalisation means this is simply the starting point to tailor the Rolls-Royce to your own requirements. The car we drove came in closer to £400k.
That’s not to say anyone buying a £300,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom 2 will feel short-changed, for the solid luxury, the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot rising from the bonnet and the sheer impressive magnitude of the whole machine comes as standard.
You could, of course choose a Rolls-Royce Ghost instead. This starts at around £200,000, though lacks the Phantom’s gravitas.

Rolls-Royce Phantom 2: verdict
You need to set aside all your previous benchmarks when it comes to the Rolls-Royce Phantom 2. It is so far removed from any possible rival in sheer opulence that it stands completely apart.
The price is eye-watering, but Rolls-Royce has found that there are sufficient customers for whom that is of little consequence. And while we have a suspicion that the Mercedes S-Class is the equal of the Phantom 2 in many areas, that probably won’t concern those searching for the ultimate in motor cars.
