CoolFm, WazobiaFm To Lunch New Television Transmission On October 1st.

Good news for all lovers of Television Entertainment like mee!!!, now I'm excited about this one because it's from the stables of my favourite radio CoolFm and sister radio WazobiaFm. as they both turn 16 and 5 respectively on October 1st.

After two years of planning, building and installing state of the art equipment, Cool TV and Wazobia TV will be lunching transmission on channels 195 and 196 respectively on StarTimes from October 1st followed by a full scale transmission from 3rd November.

At a briefing in Lagos ahead of the launch, Managing Director of Cool FM, Wazobia FM and Nigeria Info 99.3, Amin Moussalli, said, ‘We believe that we are in for a change in TV Broadcasting.  We are passionate about it and are faithful to our destiny.”

When asked about the decision to begin test transmission on Nigeria’s Independence Day, he said, “Our Independence Day is dear to us and we want to tag our new milestone with October 1st like we did for Cool FM, Wazobia FM and Nigeria Info FM.”

He added ”The new broadcast station boasts of three newly built state of the art transmission studios with lighting, acoustics, cameras and a master control room, whilst the radio studios of Cool, Wazobia and Nigeria Info FM have also been refurbished and equipped for live transmission.”

Cool TV 196 is aimed at an English speaking audience, whilst Wazobia TV 195 is aimed at those who yearn for engaging national content that speaks to their shared values.

The hope is that the two channels will become prominent platforms for premium entertainment delivering a fresh inspiring perspectives to audiences across the continent and indeed the world.

Addressing journalists during a press briefing and a tour of the state-of-the-art television stations on Thursday, 25th September Amin Moussalli, group managing director of Wazobia TV and Cool TV said "The pre-launch transmission is expected to pave the way for commencement of full transmission and a formal launch on November 3, 2014."

He also said the audio-visual transmission is the first of its kind in the country, giving viewers the opportunity to watch their favourite radio programmes live on TV. Highlighting the pre-launch he said viewers will be able to watch their favourite radio programmes live on the television stations via audio-visual transmission, rather than the usual broadcast of movies and musicals during TV test transmissions.

“This new system of broadcasting allows a presenter who is live in the Wazobia FM or Cool FM studios to be viewed live on television by audiences at home.” He also described this as a “two in one package” of watching and listening to radio and TV.
