Pakistani Brothers Arrested for Cannibalism
Two brothers, who have been previously jailed but released,
were again arrested on Monday again after police discovers a child’s head in
their house located at a remote village northwest of Pakistan.
Alert by neighbors had led to the arrest of Mohammed Arif Ali
on Monday morning as they reported a “foul smell” coming out from his house in
the village known as kahawar khan, the district police told news persons of CNN.
Investigations helped discovered the decapitated head of an infant
next to a burning hot stove, the head, which is now being examined at a hospital
in a nearby village of Darya Khan seems to be around five days old, police
chief Abdullah said.
The police also said that both men confessed to eating human
flesh. Similar offence had got them to jail for two years before their release last
year, and they have also confessed that they dismembered a woman’s body they
had stolen from a graveyard in that town.
Thus there is no explicit law on cannibalism in the country
of Pakistan; the two men have been convicted of desecrating a body including their
public order offences.
