Lagos Theatre Festival 2014 Kicks Off Today
The British Council in Nigeria presents the largest ever outdoor theatre festival at the Lagos Theatre Festival 2014.
The event will be three days of part theatrical experience, part real life and part city journey. The festival aims to transform the historic Freedom Park, a public space born out of the ruins of a colonial prison and reconstructed to preserve the history and cultural heritage of Nigeria.
At this festival, theatre will be in non-theatrical/ unconventional spaces, Fringe shows & Exhibitions.
Plays showing are:
‘Make We Waka’ by Look Left Look Right | 2 PM, 4 PM, 6 PM Daily
‘Waiting for A Lottery’ by Oxzygen Koncepts | 3 PM & 5 PM Daily
‘Diagnosis’ by Imagine Nigeria | 2.15 PM & 5.15 PM Daily
‘Queen of the Night’ by Renegade Theatre | 3.15 PM & 6.15 PM Daily

Queen of the Night (3.15pm & 6.15pm)
There is a bar in Lagos where there is no good or bad; where all pretences at right and wrong stop at the door. This place is known as the “Queen of the Night”.
Diagnosis (2.15pm & 5.15pm)
Johnnie and Dan are good friends who have gone through hell and high water to escape the realities of Lagos living. They decide to pull off internet scams on innocent victims.
Waiting for a Lottery (3pm & 5pm)
Lotteries, like auditions, have provided gateways to success and stardom in Lagos - a dreamland surrounded by the waters of survival, dreams and ambitions.
